Shopping at a small business this season could go a long way in supporting them and providing a unique gift. With today being Small Business Saturday, here are 10 small businesses to shop from for holiday gifts.
1 – Bitty & Beau’s
Bitty and Beau’s Coffee is known for its inclusive coffee shops that not only empower the employees, they also provide a positive and welcoming space. The company employs individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There are various locations on the east coast with more opening in the near future. However, you can shop online for coffees, mugs, and clothing items to support their cause.
2 – American Dream Nut Butter
This family-owned and operated company handmakes each jar with ingredients grown or manufactured in the USA. The peanut butter and almond butter blends are low carb, high in protein, and gluten-free. There is something for everyone! They also donate 10% of all proceeds to sending care packages to the troops overseas.
3 – DASH
I love my DASH waffle maker so much. Although it seems small, the waffles are the perfect size and I’ve even frozen them to toast later. DASH also has a ton of other cooking items that are great gift options no matter what style of cooking your loved one is into.
4 – Cultivate What Matters
I discovered this brand when searching for a way to improve my goal setting. The PowerSheets make it possible for you to think through your goals and create actionable steps to achieve them while also seeing your progress. The 12 months of intentional goal-setting worksheets and other planning items make it simple to stay organized.
5 – Page 1 Books
A book subscription box is a great gift for someone on your list or even for yourself. This subscription box includes books that are handpicked for you based on your responses to a few questions. They also allow you to share your Goodreads account so they can get to know what you like. The gift options allow you to send one to someone on your list without having to pick the books for them.
6 – Blueland
We usually don’t think about how much plastic we consume, especially when it comes to cleaning products. Blueland allows you to buy the bottle once and have it for use for a lifetime. The cleaning products come in tablets that you insert into the water filled bottle. There are tons of different items and sets to choose from that make a great gift for anyone this season.
7 – Hello Bargello
Many people find themselves stuck indoors during the winter months. Give someone or yourself a fun project to get into that can also be functional. Hello Bargello was created to bring back the vintage craft of bargello needlepoint. The Nightbird Glasses Case, Bella Donna Planter Cozy, and Little Lies Zipper Bag Kit are some of my favorites for gift ideas.
8 – KIM+ONO
A handcrafted kimono company that creates beautiful and sophisticated pieces that can be extremely versatile. With a variety of prints and lengths to choose from, there is something for each woman on your shopping list this year. The business is also family-owned and operated.
9 – Ptula
I’ve been shopping at Ptula ever since it launched a few years back and have continuously been blown away by the pieces of activewear. Each item is carefully created with quality and functionality in mind. There are even lounge items that are perfect for the continuing work from home routines that many are faced with moving into 2021.
10 – Stella & Haas
I recently discovered this accessories shop through Instagram and immediately fell in love with the pieces. These are affordable and beautiful pieces that make the perfect gift. Stella & Haas is also a black, female-owned business with a mission to make everyone feel welcomed and appreciated.
This year is a great opportunity to support small businesses and even fall in love with a new brand.
