There are countless subscription boxes out there, but FabFitFun is one that was recommended by many people. Although I’m not one to order much online, I decided to test it out.
My plan was to be a member for a year to get a good feel for the different boxes each season.
The FabFitFun boxes include 8-10 full-sized products that are valued at over $200.00, just for $49.99 each season. Before your box ships, you can customize some of the products and even choose add-ons.
Items included in the box are described to be “the best in beauty, fitness, wellness, home and everything in between.” There have been tote bags, face masks, home decor, and so much more.
Below I’ll show you each box I got from Fall 2018-Fall 2019. I’ll also share with you which products were my favorite, least liked and how I feel now that my year testing period has ended.
Fall 2018
This was my first box ever, so I was pretty excited when I saw the pretty box sitting on my front steps.

Here’s what was inside the box:

- Alfred French Press Coffee Maker
- Grown Alchemist Polishing Facial Exfoliant
- GlamGlow Bubblesheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask
- Skin&Co Blue in Capri Shower Gel
- Cobra Wireless Bluetooth Headphones
- Simply Whimsical Towel
- Touch in Sol Metallist Liquid Foil Lipstick Duo
- Luna Rica Caramel Nut Bar
- Makeup Blender Sponge
- Vince Camuto Two-Toned Tote Bag
My favorite items: tote bag, makeup blender sponge, and the towel.
Least liked items: french coffee press and lipstick duo. In the past year, I’ve never used these items.
Aside from the two items I least liked, I thought this was a great box! It had things I used immediately and still use to this day. For my first box, it felt worth the $49 for the season.
Winter 2018
After the fall box, I was excited to open up the winter one to see what was inside. This particular box was great for items that went well for the winter months – fixing dry skin, staying warm, adding a touch of warm tones to your makeup, and relaxing while stuck indoors.

Here’s what was inside the box:

- Ahava Hydration Cream Mask
- Mark & Graham Throw Blanket
- Bearpaw Headband and Gloves
- Elevate Essential Oils
- Sherrie Matthews Acupuncture Jade Roller
- Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick
- Thrive Cosmetics Highlighting Stick
- Blaq Eye Mask + Hyaluronic Acid
- Lele Sadoughi Circle Necklace
My favorite items: Bearpaw gloves, Ahava hydration cream, and the throw blanket.
Least liked items: Lele Sadoughi necklace only because I tend to wear dainty, tiny jewelry.
This FabFitFun box was nice because I found myself using the gloves all winter and sitting by the fire with my throw after using my hydration cream. The items selected were perfect for the dry and cold months.
Spring 2019
Customizations opened and I was excited to get the backpack because I love a good bag. Also, I love plants, so this had me pumped for the spring with the cactus printed box.

Here’s what was inside the box:

- QUAY Australia My Girl In Black/Smoke Sunglasses
- Manna Kadar Champagne Charcoal Scrub
- OUAI Leave-In Conditioner
- Dr. Brandt eye de-puffing gel
- Tula Purifying Face Cleanser
- Makeup Pro Silicone Make-up Applicator
- The2BANDITS Athens Necklace
- Deux Lux Backpack
My favorite items: OUAI leave-in conditioner and Tula cleanser. Both of these are items I’d go purchase on my own. I love the cleanser, I feel like it’s helped my acne which says A LOT.
Least liked items: Honestly, I liked all of these items! If I could pick over, I might have opted for the aviator style glasses because they seemed more versatile.
I felt like this was an equal amount of fashion and beauty. All of these items have been used since I opened the box. I’d say this one was one of my favorites because the beauty items fit all sorts of different needs. The items were more of a daily use compared to other boxes.
Summer 2019
I was a little worried about this box, just because I felt hesitant with the items when customizing.

Here’s what was inside the box:

- Odeme Silicone Wine Glasses
- Grace & Stella Rose Spray
- Invisi Bobble Hair Ties
- Generation Clay Brightening Purple Mask
- Dr. Brandt Pore Purifying Cleanser
- Coola Makeup Setting Spray
- West Elm Indigo Tie-Dye Bowls
- Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask
- Spiritual Gangster Maya Kimono
My favorite items: wine glasses and tie-dye bowls.
Least liked items: kimono and foot mask. I was really hoping to love both of these, but the kimono isn’t flattering and the foot mask didn’t help as much as expected (you need to wear socks if you want to walk around.)
The Summer 2019 FabFitFun box felt really beauty product oriented. Although the silicone wine glasses were a huge plus, I didn’t really use many of the items during the summer because I’m very plain Jane with my beauty routine.
Fall 2019
When this arrived, I had no idea what I even selected because it took a very long time. I didn’t really love anything on the customizations either, yet I was still curious to see the whole box. Once it did arrive, I was disappointed, but mainly because of what I selected in my box.

Here’s what was inside the box:

- Plush Apparel Ultra Soft Plaid Scarf
- Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair
- Skinvolve Body Boost Gel
- Harper+Ari Exfoliating Sugar Cubes
- Cosmedix Pure C Vitamin C Mixing Crystals
- Nassif MD Dermaceuticals Detox Pads
- Human+Kind Body Souffle
- Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks
My favorite items: the plaid scarf.
Least liked items: Vitamin c crystals, and the Skinvolve Gel. I didn’t notice any changes to my face from the crystals like I had with a serum. The Skinvolve made me feel like my legs were on fire from a ton of Icy Hot.
This box is probably great for a beauty product lover, but it wasn’t my favorite. In fact, it was the only box where I felt really disappointed.
To be fair, it comes down to my selections. There were a lot of good choices, such as a hair straightener, a lunch box, and a travel yoga mat. Also, there was a cheese board, striped wallet or even earrings.
If I could do a do-over, I would have definitely opted for the straightener over the scarf (feels like a better value too!), the cheeseboard over the detox pads and earrings over the vitamin C crystals.
Final Thoughts on FabFitFun
After a year membership with FabFitFun, I’ve decided to cancel my subscription.
All in all, I realized that I’m not really a big beauty product person. I was hoping the items in the boxes would inspire me to get more into it, but I never really used the items as much as I should have.
I also realized that I was picking customizable options based on what I thought was better for the price instead of what I really wanted. Although it’s great to keep in mind the value of the items, I lost sight of what would actually be used… which means I wasted money!
Although the boxes were not the perfect match for me, I would still recommend them to others. They’re best suited for people who love discovering more beauty products or fashion items. The fashion items were usually my favorites because of how useful they are into different seasons.
The FabFitFun box is so much fun to receive at the start of each season and always exciting to unveil what’s inside each box. If you’re interested in trying it out, I’d recommend you stay a member for a couple of boxes. That way you’ll find new items to love and might even discover products you didn’t know existed.
Have you tried FabFitFun? What did you think of the boxes?
